History
The CMI Brest is a dispositive created on the 5th of July 2013. It is part of the University of Western Brittany (UBO)'s International Affairs department, but works together with all its partners to promote and better the mobility of entering international students, interns, PhDs and researchers.
Members: Brest Métropole, UBO, IMT Atlantique, ENIB, ENSTA Bretagne, BBS, ISEN, CIEL, IRD, CNRS, IFREMER, CESI.

The CMI Brest team works from their offices in the Cité Internationale Nelson Mandela, at the Capucins, but also moves on demand to present their services to our partners and help our users in their administratives formalities.
Travaillant en étroite coopération avec la préfecture du Finistère et la Fédération des Étudiants de Bretagne Occidentale, nous sommes aussi l’interlocuteur privilégié de la CAF, la CPAM, des finances publiques, etc.
Labellisé Centre EURAXESS, le CMI Brest contribue aux Groupes de Travail de l’Association Euraxess France, participe à certaines réunions d’autres réseaux (Euraxess Europe, Campus France, Maison de l’International, etc.) et organise des réunions thématiques en notre sein pour les personnels des établissements (Ressources humaines, Relations internationales, FLE, etc.).
The CMI Brest's missions
- 3 main priorities: prepare the stay, welcome and accompany internationals during their mobility.
- 3 main services: information, hands-on help, and intervention (for example with other structures)
- 4 main users: students, interns, researchers/teaching positions, personnel of our partners
- 4 options for contact: online, phone, on-site, outside
Team and members
The CMI Brest is composed of seven higher education schools, three research institutes as well as Brest métropole.
Our team consists of:

One personel in charge of international students and interns
One personel in charge of international PhDs, teaching positions and researchers.
In 2023, our services were requested more than 2600 times by students, interns, PhDs, researchers and partner personels.
